In order to spend time with the wounded warriors and their families, it is crucial to familiarize ourselves well with HIPAA privacy rules. Being an OMUA member requires HIPAA certification, and this meeting's workshop will emphasize the regulations we need to follow so as not to jeopardize the personal information of the patients. UCLA Operation Mend's program manager Melanie Gideon and coordinator Dana Katz will be presenting this topic to us, as well as providing guidelines for maintaining safe and respectful interactions.
Remember, as members of OMUA, everything we do reflects on the club as a whole, so it is vital to be aware of how we conduct ourselves and maintain the best reputation we can! This is an especially important meeting to attend, so please come. On a related note, this will also be a nice opportunity to meet some of the other Buddy Families in training.
The meeting will be at the usual time and place (MS 5203, Thursday 6:00-7:00 PM). See you all there!
