In honor of this November's Veterans Day (11/11), OMUA will be collaborating with UCLA Public Outreach, On-Campus Housing Council, and the Veterans Resource Office to host a movie screening of "High Ground" at Covel Grand Horizon Room, Salon A, on November 5th (Tuesday), 6:00-8:30 PM. The 2012 film follows eleven wounded veterans as they embark on an expedition to climb the Himalayas. We will also be having a Q&A session with student veterans and several veteran-serving professionals regarding the challenges of transitioning back into civilian life; one of the panelists will be our awesome UCLA Operation Mend program manager Melanie Gideon.
Please come out to show your support, reflect on these issues together, and have a good time. Admission is free for anyone with a Bruin card, so bring your friends as well! There will be free food, drinks, and prize giveaways. Please RSVP by signing up below.
We also need some members to help us set up and be stationed at our booth there. If you can assist us with either, it would be greatly appreciated! Fill out your availability on the Google document.
Lastly, here's a trailer of the movie. Hope to see you all there!
